  • People have practiced hypnotism for thousands of years, but it emerged as a legitimate psychological treatment in the mid-19th century, about the same time psychology itself was evolving into a rigorous science. It featured heavily in the early work of both Freud and Jung. The British Medical Association has recognized the efficacy of hypnotherapy since 1892.

Hypnotherapy involves guiding patients into a trance-like state in which they are more focused, highly relaxed, and more open to suggestion. This is called hypnosis. Hypnotherapists use hypnosis to help patients access their subconscious minds, uncover repressed motivations and memories, perform regression therapy, and “re-map” their responses to stimuli.

  • You might notice certain events or accidents in your life that appear repetitive. The original event that set these behaviors in motion might have been forgotten, yet you continue to re-enact it.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic tool that delves into patterns of behavior and unresolved trauma. All it requires is your willingness to accept new ways of seeing yourself, and your determination to heal.

As you shift from feeling stuck to going with the flow, life starts to feel more coherent. There’s a deeper sense of connection—to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. We’re no longer weighed down by past events.

  • For certain conditions such as depression or anxiety, hypnotherapy is a much faster route to a cure than simply talking. And for clients that want to kick a bad habit or conquer stage fright, it can be one of the simplest, quickest treatments available.

    Hypnosis is very helpful in:

    • Control mind-body interactions.

    • Manage physical and psychological reactions.

    • Help people to sleep and treat phobias

    • Habits you have avoided.

  • The process is designed to guide you to trust your senses and feelings and discover hidden connections. During the session, you will get closer to the source of the issues by opening the doorway to your subconscious mind.

I will place you into a deep state of relaxation, and guide you to uncover subconscious motivations, access repressed memories, perform regression therapy, and use the power of suggestion to “re-map” the mind’s responses to stimuli.

Close to the end, I assist in building a foundation to gain clarity and calm. I guide and help to deep release any fear or suffering and help you tap into the energy of the heart that is loving and generous.

Through this journey, with the guidance of the therapist, you will use the power of your own suggestions to change these patterns and regain self-trust.

  • As you embark on this transformative journey to explore your inner self, I invite you to prepare yourself for an enriching experience. Ensuring your comfort and tranquility is key.

    • Find a peaceful and private space where you can fully immerse yourself in this introspective adventure.

    • Keep a refreshing bottle of water by your side, a simple reminder of the nourishment that both your body and mind deserve.

    • Eye Mask if you have one, and other objects as needed, will be discussed during the consultation.

Remember, this journey is a gift to yourself, a chance to connect with your inner world and uncover the beauty that resides within.

Embrace this opportunity with an open heart and a sense of curiosity.

  • To achieve a joyous life, transcend the selfish ego and open the heart so that love can enter. When your heart is open, you will look for things to love and be joyful about. As you begin to see everything through the eyes of love, you will notice even the little things, like a flower sprouting through cracks in the rocks or a friendly smile from a stranger. Feel the light soothing your soul, let it glow, let it shine from your eyes, and feel the joy. This gift is your heritage and destiny.

When you become aware of what love and appreciation truly feel like, you will allow that feeling to flow through you continuously.

  • Researchers have been studying the effects of hypnotherapy for well over a century; the evidence that it works is overwhelming. Click here for a 140-page list of citations demonstrating the efficacy of hypnotherapy for treating numerous conditions. In recent years, advanced digital imaging techniques have allowed scientists to get a better idea of what occurs in the brain during hypnosis. Researchers at Stanford scanned the brains of 57 people undergoing hypnosis and reported, “Distinct sections of the brain have altered activity and connectivity while someone is hypnotized.” Some of these neurological sections are associated with insight and change.

Some clients respond better to one technique than the other. Some issues are addressed more effectively with one than the other.  Often I weave back and forth between the two modalities. For example, I might use the hypnotherapy induction to put the client into a deep state of relaxation and create resources, use bilateral music or stimulation to digest traumatic sequelae, and end with HCH healing imagery. Over time I have been able to interlace every technique I use into the Heartcentered Hypnotherapy protocol using it as the scaffolding for a broad range of psychological, body, and energy techniques.

The services I render are held out to the public as nontherapeutic hypnotism, defined as the use of hypnosis to inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis. I do not represent my services as any form of medical, behavioral or mental health care, and despite research to the contrary, by law I may make no health benefit claims for my services.
